Prior to becoming a personal chef, Chassis spent the past 8 years working in and around the kitchen for independently owned restaurants, sports and entertainment venue caterers, hotels, and government contractors in the D.C. area. Chassis is currently a member of the United States Personal Chef Association and is a certified ServSafe food handler.

When she’s not cooking for clients she can be found feeding her family at home, hosting spontaneous dinners via Feastly, and randomly entertaining friends with her own chef's table dinner parties. Chassis takes pleasure in providing a great experience with the food she makes and strives to ensure that others enjoy her passion as much as she does. A born and raised Washingtonian, Chassis Hawkins-Younger, grew up on the Southern comfort food that came out of her mother’s and grandmother’s kitchens. During her early teen years, her mom granted her sole access into the kitchen and a mental lightbulb went off. Cooking, continuously learning, and improving her skills turned out to be her life’s passion so she went on to earn an AA in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Washington and obtain a BA in Culinary Management from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. During her time in school she took an elective on the career of being a personal chef and it sparked a fire. Her love for food and cooking for others resulted in the making of Foodtellect Personal Chef Service.
