I'm a born and raised DC native who grew up on the Southern comfort food that came out of both her mother's and grandmother’s kitchens. During my early teen years, my mom granted me access into the kitchen and I started having a blast creating some hits and some misses. The idea of taking items so simplistic and otherwise ordinary and combining them to make something delicious really grabbed my attention. Cooking, continuously learning, and improving my skills turned out to be my passion so I went on to earn an AA in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Washington and obtain a BA in Culinary Management from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale. During my time in school I took an elective based on the career of being a personal chef and a mental lightbulb went "pop!". My love for food, having creative freedom, and cooking for others is how Foodtellect Personal Chef Service was created two years ago.

SO WHAT IS "FOODTELLECT", EXACTLY? I LIKE TO DESCRIBE THIS as A COMBO OF MY OWN KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, and EDUCATION MIXED WITH EVERYDAY SIMPLE INGREDIENTS TO CREATE SOMETHING GREAT.

In addition to becoming a personal chef, I have spent the past 8 years working both in and around the kitchen for independently owned restaurants, sports and entertainment venue caterers, hotels, and government contractors in the D.C. area, along with resorts in Florida. 

When I'm not cooking for clients I can be found scouring recipes to make for my family at home, plotting culinary travel adventures, and randomly entertaining friends with my own chef's table dinner parties. I take pleasure in providing a great experience with the food that I make and I strive to ensure that others enjoy my passion just as much as I do, if not more.
