So what exactly is “foodtellect”, right? Is it food? Is it intellect? It’s a funky word I came up with in the middle of the night that turned out to be the best definition of my service. Foodtellect is just a mixing bowl of my knowledge and personal experience combined with everyday ingredients. It’s what I use to create something great for someone else.
I'm a born and raised DC native who grew up on the Southern comfort food that came out of both her mother's and grandmother’s kitchens. During my early teen years, my mom granted me access into the kitchen and I started having a blast creating some hits and some misses. The idea of taking ingredients that are pretty simplistic on their own and combining them to make something extraordinary really grabbed my attention. Later in life I went on to earn an AA in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Washington and obtain a BA in Culinary Management from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Scottsdale. During my time in college, I stumbled upon the idea of being a personal chef and a light bulb went off. My love for food, having creative freedom, and cooking for others is how Foodtellect PCS was created back in 2015. At present, I'm a proud member of the U.S. Personal Chef Association and I'm also certified as a food safety manager via ServSafe/P.G. County.
In addition to being a personal chef, I’ve been in the food service/hospitality world since 2009, for independently owned restaurants, sports and entertainment venue caterers, hotels, government contractors, and Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
When I'm not cooking for clients I can be found scouring recipes to make for my family at home, plotting culinary travel adventures, and randomly entertaining friends with dinner parties. I take pride in providing a great experience with the food that I make and I strive to ensure that others enjoy my passion just as much as I do, if not more. Check me out on Facebook to see what I've been up to!
